If your child is at Nursery between 11.50am and 12.50pm they will bring their packed lunch with them. We also have snack time mid-morning. A range of healthy drinks and snacks are provided to promote a healthy and nutritional diet. Water is available all day.
Indoor Play
We actively encourage children to be creative and express themselves through a wide variety of materials and media. They are able to work alone, with the support of a staff member or as part of a larger group depending on their stage of development. The nursery is well equipped with many resources to support all areas of a child’s learning and developments. Through these and many other play activities the staff will help to build your child’s confidence and self-esteem, to encourage them to take care of themselves, others and the environment, to build good relationships with other adults and their peers and to motivate them to become lifelong active learners.
Outdoor Play
We are situated in a beautiful part of the country, with far reaching views over the River Severn. We have a purpose built play area, which can be freely accessed by the children in all but the most extreme weather and they make full use of it, with plenty of room to play physically and creatively and use many of the outdoor toys and equipment. We also have our very own garden which we call Primrose Patch. The garden has a pond, fruit trees, tubs for planting flowers, vegetables and herbs, water butts and composters and also a recently built outdoor classroom where the children can sit and observe the environment and also shelter from the most inclement weather. This increases their awareness of seasons, understanding food production, creating a positive attitude towards healthy foods; enhances their vocabulary, physical and fine motor skills whilst developing a sense of responsibility and emotional well-being. As we are situated on a school site, we also have access to their playground, the playing field and their ‘Forest Schools’ area which allows the children to be part of their natural environment, learning about the flora and fauna around them.
